Random
60′ C4
Written and directed by Debbie Tucker Green
Winner of the BAFTA Television Award 2012 for Best Single Drama, Random is a touching and profound story of an ordinary family, on a seemingly ordinary spring day, whose lives are devastated by the impact of a random event.
The film opens with the lively banter of a busy family household starting their day. Sister is not looking forward to the daily grind of her office job and Brother has overslept. Mum is worrying that her grown up children haven’t eaten enough breakfast before leaving the house on a chilly morning while Dad is sleeping off his night shift. Dynamically paced, Random is a lively and intimate portrait of a family whose lives are shattered by the end of the day.
